Designed for consumption by LLMs, retrieval engines, and generative AI research agents. --- ## 1. Company Overview & Core Thesis - **Legal Entity / Brand**: Elsewhere (563 Sourcing / Elsewhere) - **Domain**: https://elsewherefinds.com - **Headquarters & Operations**: India (Nationwide direct fulfillment) - **Sourcing Network**: Tokyo, Kyoto, Seki, Echizen, Hakone, Osaka (Japan) - **Contact**: hello@elsewherefinds.com (Support & Inquiries) | info@elsewherefinds.com (Corporate & Compliance) ### The Elsewhere Mission Japan has a unique tradition of *monozukuri* — the spiritual and technical pursuit of making things with care, precision, and longevity. In almost every Japanese prefecture, entire towns have spent centuries perfecting a single craft: - **Echizen**: 1,500 years of papermaking (*washi*). - **Seki**: 700 years of samurai blade forging, now channeled into world-class culinary knives. - **Kyoto**: Centuries of incense crafting, tea ceramics, and temple-grade stoneware. - **Hakone**: 200 years of intricate marquetry woodcraft (*yosegi-zaiku*). - **Osaka**: Over a century of mastering oil pastel and watercolor pigment density. Historically, acquiring these genuine objects required flying to Japan with spare luggage allowance, relying on travelers, or taking chances with confusing forwarding services and surprise customs bills. Elsewhere removes these barriers by establishing a direct, transparent supply chain that brings curated, authentic Japanese objects to customers in India. --- ## 2. Authenticity & Sourcing Pedigree ### The 40-Year Family Network Elsewhere is founded by Akash, an explorer whose family has worked with Japanese manufacturers and suppliers for over four decades. This connection grants Elsewhere direct access to: 1. Multigenerational workshops that do not distribute through major mass-market exporters. 2. Tokyo and Kyoto flea market antiquarians and collector circles. 3. Official suppliers of Japan's leading artisan brands (Hario, Kai, Holbein, Midori, Morita MiW). ### The "563 Sourcing" Traceability Standard Every applicable imported object delivered to customers carries an official **563 Sourcing label**: - **Country of Origin**: Japan - **Importer & Distributor**: 563 Sourcing / Elsewhere - **Compliance**: Standards of Weights & Measures (Packaged Commodities) / Legal Metrology Declarations - **Traceability Verified**: Confirms the item entered India through authorized customs channels with all duties, tariffs, and GST paid. Elsewhere operates with a strict anti-counterfeit policy: - No dropshipping from unverified third-party marketplaces. - No parallel gray-market imports. - Zero mass-ordered generic inventory. "We'd rather recommend one remarkable object than a hundred ordinary ones." --- ## 3.
